Micros Nordic and ED for hotels have teamed up to bring a new hotel homepage online booking engine to Nordic market.
Over 38% of travel services in Nordic countries and Western Europe are sold online in 2011 (European Travel Commission New Media Trend Watch). The share of online sales is growing rapidly in hotels and most of it is sold via various online travel portals.
The online travel portals with advanced functionality and aggressive marketing have educated the clients to buy online. Client’s expectations in online booking are very high and they are searching for easy and quick booking solutions. Therefore it is very important for hotels to have the right kind of online booking engine on their own homepage, the kind, which serves the client expectations and delivers increase in direct sales thus making hotels less dependent on online travel portals.
The ED booking is designed to increase direct sales, increase profit and lower cost of online sales to hotels.
ED booking, allows automatically exchange of rates, availability, reservations and cancellations. A hotel does not need to have a Micros Fidelio PMS, as the booking comes also with extranet version.
